Reflection on Chapters 7-9

Terminal Time is an interesting way to bring historical narratives to life. This work is about the construction of history, the significance of the millennium, and emerging technologies, which are allowing us to recombine the facts of the pasts, and presents to visualize our own particular interpretations of the future. Terminal Time allows its users to interact to what is being shown on the screen. In a sense history is in your hands. What I found most interesting about Terminal Time is that depending on the audience’s answers to the questions changes the story that will follow. Meaning that the experience is different every single time. I find this to be the logical way of learning because being that it is interactive it allows people to easily and quickly grasp the information that is being shown on the screen. The fact that in this generation, people would rather watch a movie then read a book, Terminal Time can become the new age of learning. Instead of reading information out of a book, now you can simply watch the same information written in a book through an interactive cinematic experience. I find that Terminal Time is an example of remediation, being that it takes a book and turns it into an interactive movie. It goes to show how technology has the ability to take a medium such as a book and turn it into a newer and more profound medium such as Terminal Time.
