Reflection

I agree with Alex in regards to grasping the idea of originality from this weeks reading. Everyone who uses any type of social media website, blog, etc. expresses their personality via their pages. The amount of pictures, words, and the like make an observer learn a little more about the individual without having to speak one word to them. I found myself confused further along in the reading as I did at the beginning. It wasn't until I went back and re-visited the previous pages that I realized Manovich seemed to be summarizing or trying to explain the previous chapters to the reader.

As I skim through my classmates' blog posts, it is interesting to see the different perceptions and ideas everyone grasps from the same reading. It goes to prove that although everyone is reading the same book, we all take something different out of it and I actually like reading what everyone has to say because it shows me things that I would have otherwise not understood solely from reading what the authors have to say.

  2. I agree with you about people's personalities and perception comes out in their pages...Looks can be deceiving though. Some people who look like they are very business oriented could be party animals and vice versa.
